Although Panasonic is clearly going away from the high-performance segment and has been “simplifying” (or dumbing down) its GF cameras, I want to make sure that you don’t associate bigger size with bigger performance. The design of the Olympus E-P3 will please those who like a “classic” look. I wouldn’t call this “retro” because the Olympus E-P3 still looks much more modern than the Leica X1 for example. 3 Megapixel image sensor, and features in-body image stabilization (IS). Having IS built-into the body is great because it will work on every single lens. The Olympus E-P3 is a little bigger than its competitors (4. The The Olympus E-P3 has a 12. 35in (D) for 13oz or 369g), namely the Sony NEX Series and the Panasonic GF Series. And we just received a rumors from a new source (so we can’t say if the rumor is more or less reliable or not):
“ Confirming that Panasonic Pro Video dep. will present at NAB a VCR with micro 4/3 optic. I did predict this somewhere on fourthirds-user.com about 9 monthss ago ( looking for the link now), just so you know I’m not talking waffle here are some other predictions from Sept 2008 that came true http://www.fourthirds-user.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2459 *****found it It is great that Panasonic will consider a professional version of camcorder (or video camera) with M4/3 format. People may think it may be crazy, but please remember the introduction of AVCcam from Panasonic has already developed some markets using AVC codec for video recording and editing, and probably this will be designed to supplement its video camera market for prosumer usage. If I can use my M4/3 lenses on my GH-camera for photo and leisure video, while I can produce some semi-professional video from its new pro-video camera with M4/3 mount (although the optics is not good enough compared with traditional professional video camera with large lenses), it is really a pleasure.
